Casey Smith, M.D.

Dr. Smith is board-certified in adult and forensic psychiatry.  He attended medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his residency in psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at New York University and a fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) at Columbia University. 

Dr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Smith had a career as a lawyer in New York City and San Francisco.  He holds a Juris Doctor from New York University and is a member of the New York State Bar and California State Bar.

Dr. Smith is the former Medical Director of the Argent Program at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT, and the current Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy at the Manhattan Psychiatric Center. He also serves as a guest lecturer for the NYU Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program and the NYU Public Psychiatry Fellowship Program.

Dr. Smith maintains a small private practice in New York City and serves as a testifying expert in criminal and civil cases.
